Ok, let's move from music and onto fashion!  There was quite a trio at the Donna Karan show yesterday.  Nicole Richie, Winona Ryder and Christina Ricci all sat in the front row of Donna Karan's 20th anniversary show as part of the Mercedes-Benz fashion week.

All three ladies looked slick and elegant in their black and navy blue dresses. Nicole, Winona and Christina might not be the first names that come to mind when you think of Hollywood glamor, but they were certainly pulling it off at the show!

       

Christina Aguilera showed she was back to form at the VMAs last night.  The new mom showed off her slender figure and new haircut on the red carpet and then rocked the stage with an old school/new school performance.

Check out Xtina performing her revamped version of "Genie in a Bottle" (in honor of her new greatest hits album) as well as her new single "Keeps Gettin' Better."

     

She may be with child but that didn't stop Ashlee Simpson from having fun at the VMAs last night!  I say "with child" but it may in fact be with children!

Rapper Tyga (Gym Class Heroes' Travis McCoy's cousin and Fall Out Boy friend)  is reporting “They’re having twins! They’re really happy.”

Hmm...Ashlee is looking pretty large and Pete Wentz did accidentally slip and refer to the baby as "them." “That was waaaaay wrong,” he said. "I meant to say ‘the baby’ and said ‘them’ ’cause it was 7 a.m. Not in a BS way: I can tell you we are absolutely not having twins. I totally misspoke ’cause we dunno if it’s a boy or girl. I try to speak vaguely, and I totally blew it on this one.”

Well Pete was the one who vehemently denied that Ashlee was pregnant in the first place, so yeah, it's twins!

     

Britney's back!  At last night's MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears not only took home her first, but also her second and third Moonman statues for her song "Piece of Me".

Britney opened the ceremony with a very short speech read of the teleprompter; she didn't perform but she did look dazzling in a vintage, silver Versace dress.

Sweeping the Best Female, Best Pop and Video of the Year categories, these were Brit Brit's first wins, despite being nominated 16 times in the past.  During her acceptance speeches Britney thanked her sons and her fans and simply stated "I'm speechless."

Congratulations Britney!  Next year we want a song and dance number!

Pretty boy gone flyin'.  We spotted Zac Efron, who I will now call Zefron from this point on, taking a flight from LAX to Canada. 

Zac is appearing at the Toronto Film Festival next week in support of his new film, Me and Orson Wells, in which Zac plays a character that is cast in play version of Julius Ceasar directed by Orson Wells.  This sounds like quite a departure from his HSM material, hopefully this provide the jump he needs out of tween land!

The high in New York City today is approximately 85 degrees and with the humidity it felt about 100; I was sweating in the shade at 9:30 this morning.  

I have not left this wonderful air conditioned office since then because I was afraid I would instantaneously set on fire if I walked outside, so it blows my mind that Katie Holmes is dressed in leggings, a scarf and a black leather jacket! 

Katie must be hopping from one a-c'ed room to another because there is no way in hell she could be outside like that today, she'd cook herself in her jacket!  With that being said though, going to rehearsal has never looked so cool.

      

Not only is Ne-Yo a crafter of hit pop songs, he is also the master of new dances.  Here we see him performing on the Today Show and doing his latest move, the "nipple tweak"; pretty soon you will see kids across the nations pinching their chests on the dance floor.

Jennie Garth is not psyched on this photo shoot!  Who knows, maybe she didn't like the way the make up brushes felt or maybe they got hairspray in her eye (coincidentally, if those are the reasons, I know how she feels...I absolutely HATED having my make up done for my dance recitals as a child...sitting still for that long, things coming at your face, no good) but no matter, cuz she looks great anyways! 

I know I'm not alone when I say that it's really excellent seeing Jennie's character, Kelly Taylor, on the new 90210. It just goes to show how much of an impact those characters made on people's lives that the fans are excited to see them again more than 15 years later!  I hope the writers keep both Kelly and Brenda (Shannen Doherty) on for as long as possible!

     

It seems that Lindsay Lohan has been spending about as much time on the Ugly Betty set as she does with Samantha Ronson!  Sam sat with LiLo as she took a cigarette break yesterday; the lighting and backdrop look so perfect, you'd almost think they were both on the show! 

Lindsay has turned down an offer to pose in Playboy's 55th anniversary issue.  If there's nudity, then the answer's no . . . She's not going down the [New York] magazine road again," Lohan's rep said.  Why not?  Regretting that decision are we???

        

This is kind of a funny one.  We caught up with Miley Cyrus in Manhattan yesterday as running to and from rehearsals for Fashions Rocks.  For some odd reason, Miley is encountered by a man/fan, a man-fan, who really wants to give her some Blimpie sandwiches; I mean dude is desperate to give her these sandwiches. Of course Miley rebuffs his offer and as our cameraman pointed out, it ain't personal, it's a "security measure".  Good call Miley!  There's no way in hell I would ever take a sandwich from a stranger, would y'all?  Creepy!
