The Winners!

The 80th annual Academy Awards were held at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles last evening and the stars pulled it together for the biggest awards show of the year.  No Country for Old Men held the most nominations and it indeed win the most Oscars, followed by the other dark film, There Will be Blood, with Daniel Day-Lewis taking home Best Actor.  Now normally DDL can wear some pretty odd ensembles for the red carpet, but I thought this time (for him) he looked pretty ok...you have to respect the people that take the atypical route for the award shows. Johnny Depp kind of took the same que.  Although George Clooney lost for Best Actor he certainly didn't loose when it came to outfit; that dude looks born to wear a tux.  Seriously, George Clooney is one dashing mofo, and that can't be denied.  Of course the ladies were ravishing, I was particularly impressed with Marion Cotillard who was a surprise for Best Actress.  Her speech was tearful and humble and her white gown was stunning.  The baby bumps were in the house, host John Stewart even presenting a mock award for "Baby of the Year" (it went to an absent Angelina Jolie).  Jessica Alba (smiling!), Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett all managed to find dresses that could handle their growing belly and they all looked great.
