Katherine Heigl spoke to us about a cause that's near and dear to her heart, pitbull rescue. 

Katherine let us know about the organization Villalobos Rescue Center, a shelter in California that rehabilitates abused and abandoned pitbulls. Sadly, the kennels that the dogs stay in are outside and the dogs need a warm home to survive.  To check out how you can help these poor pups, click here.

Katherine Heigl is quite the tropper!

We spotted the Grey's Anatomy star in Beverly Hills yesterday enduring the rain with a smile on her face and a coffee in hand. After having lunch with her mom and friends, Katherine stopped off at 'Table Art' on Melrose Avenue where she spent over two hours picking out dinner wear!  Seems like Katherine is continuing to build her love nest with husband Josh Kelly.

      

Katherine Heigl and her main squeeze, her dog Romeo, were on hand last night for the opening of Australian designer Peter Alexander's flagship store in Beverly Hills last night. 

Katherine was joined by the lovely Mandy Moore, PETA spokeswoman Alicia Silverstone, Kristin Cavallari and of course the designer himself who unveiled a line of charity pajamas inspired by Romeo.

The event benefited animal rescue shelters Hearts United for Rescue and Kinder4Rescue.

          

The boys of Grey's Anatomy are back at work!  We spotted Eric Dane and Patrick Dempsey flexing for our cameras while they were shooting on Los Angeles yesterday.  The Grey's dudes weren't alone though, they had some company from Katherine Heigl and new comer Brooke Smith.

       

Katherine Heigl looks like she's reeaally enjoying that cigarette.  The Grey's Anatomy star spent a very leisurely afternoon at the Regent Beverly Wilshare hotel yesterday with her pack of American Spirits and big old Bloody Mary.  Seriously, the look on her face says "I know you can see me puffing away and I just don't give a f--k".  I know I wouldn't mind taking this blog outside and accompanying it with a mimosa, but alas Monday afternoon leisure is only reserved for the famous people.

     

Meeting your stunt double must be a very odd moment for any actor and we happened to catch Katherine Heigl doing so on set yesterday.  Katherine is currently filming The Ugly Truth in California and had the opportunity to get acquainted with her doppleganger who was no doubt filling in for some of the riskier scenes involving the hot air balloon. 

     

Katherine Heigl probably didn't realize that when she was exiting the super market over the weekend that she would be swept up in a one-man, pro-America rally!  Check out what happens as this zealot waves the American flag in the paps' faces (albeit upside down), knocks someone's camera to the ground and gets in between Katherine and her groceries! Luckily Katherine was a good sport about the whole thing and laughed it off; unlucky for that dude that they got his license plate number!

We caught Katherine Heigl chowing down on a Hostess cupcake on the set of her new film The Ugly Truth.  Katherine looked like she was enjoying her treat (as well she should), but we don't like that other thing she had in her mouth.  Katherine, quit the butts!  Smoking is way not cool any more and I think your fans really would like to see you give it up. Remember kids, if someone offers you a cigarette, just say no!  And that was my PSA for the day. 

After putting in some hard work on their new home, Katherine Heigl and hubby Josh Kelly rewarded themselves by getting dinner at local French restaurant.  I truly appreciate the fact that Katherine is cool with leaving the house in a sweater and jeans, knowing that she will probably get photographed.  Thanks for acting like a normal person!  Anyhow she and Josh seemed to be enjoying themselves as they cozied up at dinner, the honeymoon is clearly not over for them!

It's nice to see that the stars know how to get back to normal.  Katherine Heigl, who also attended the Oscars, spent yesterday shopping in WeHo.  Katherine was looking for some home decor for her newly purchased love nest that she shares with hubby Josh Kelly.  It looks like Katherine was trying to fill her home with interesting lamps, maybe she'll let us know how the finished product looks!
