Submitted by Mary Beth on Mon, 2008-02-25 09:04.The 80th annual Academy Awards were held at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles last evening and the stars pulled it together for the biggest awards show of the year. No Country for Old Men held the most nominations and it indeed win the most Oscars, followed by the other dark film, There Will be Blood, with Daniel Day-Lewis taking home Best Actor. Now normally DDL can wear some pretty odd ensembles for the red carpet, but I thought this time (for him) he looked pretty ok...you have to respect the people that take the atypical route for the award shows.

Do you have your ballots filled out?! The 80th Academy Awards are happening this Sunday and the nominees are all over the place. Up for best picture are; the romantic epic, Atonement, the thriller Michael Clayton, the neo-Western No Country for Old Men (which holds the most nominations), the one with Daniel Day-Lewis being super intense, There Will Be Blood and the surprising upstart, Juno. The award for best actor and actress are also pretty varied, with everyone from vets George Clooney and Johnny Depp to newcomers Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose). Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street had its premiere in New York last night, and it was totally hottie central! SIKE. I think Sweeney Todd himself was way better looking than the lot who turned out last night. Even Johnny didn't look all that spectacular; his suit was kind of ill-fitting and he had these really gnarly looking brown shoes. C'mon JD, you can do better than that! Also they had one of the extras from the movie show up to the red carpet which was kinda fun, oh wait, no. That's Keith f
